EVS

Hello! My name is David. I'm 25 years old and I'm from Madrid, Spain. I decided to do European Voluntary Service (EVS) because I really like to be abroad and discover other cultures, with their history, language, food, etc. And EVS is an amazing opportunity to do it. Actually I didn't even know about this program, but after one friend mentioned it I started to research about it and I found out a lot of information. It's a really great way to improve your personal skills. I chose Slovenia because of my personal circumstances and tastes and I got in contact with Kresnička after checking a lot of different projects. I must say that the paperwork and finding the project it's the most difficult part of the EVS. You need to be a bit patient. Maybe Kresnička wasn't the perfect project for me, since I hadn't have contact with kids or teenagers, but especially because of this I took it as a very big challenge. And after a big part of my project I'm really happy about my choice, because I really improved at this point. Now I feel like I know how to interact with them, when I didn't feel self-confindent at all previously. I think that's the point of doing an EVS, taking it as a challenge to improve some of your skills you would like to. And that's the target of the program itself. I really felt good in the center and the organization, and I always felt very respected as a volunteer and integrated since the very begining. And of course it gave me the opportunity to get known the country and its culture, especially the language. Maybe sometimes at the begining it was a problem to interact with the kids because of the Slovene language, but after some time and a hard work on it, it get cool. That was very satisfactory. I would reccomend to every youngster to do the program, because it would make an awesome experience that hardly could be forgotten. Bye!

Živjo! Moje ime je David in sem iz Španije. Sem prostovoljec Evropske Unije v Kriznem Centru za mlade Kresnička. Evropska Prostovoljna Služba (EVS) je program, z katerim se lahko gre v tujino kot prostovoljec. Vsak se lahko odloči med velikim številom držav in veliko projekti (šport, delo z mladimi, umetnost, socialno delo, mediji in tako daleč). EVS je res super priložnost za spoznavanje druge kulture in izboljšanje svoje osebne spretnosti. Zelo ga priporočam. Na svidenje!
